Healthy Snacking Ahead!

Feeling snacky? This is a feeling I get on a daily basis. The urge to snack. So naturally, I had to come up with a healthy option! Check out the recipes below for a sweet tooth option or a spicy kick!

What you will need:

SPICY KICK OPTION
1 can garbanzo beans (drained and rinsed)
2 tbsp. cumin
2tbsp. chili powder
2tbsp. cayenne pepper

OR SWEET TOOTH OPTION:

1 can garbanzo beans
2-3 tbsp. of cinnamon
1-2 tbsp. truvia

Directions for both:

Drain and rinse garbanzo beans. Lay the garbanzo beans out on a paper towel and pat dry. Let sit for 5 minutes to dry a bit longer (this helps them get crunchier in the baking process)

Place garbanzo beans in a mixing bowl and add desired seasonings. Toss lightly.

Spray a baking sheet with non stick oil spray. Lay the seasoned garbanzo beans on a baking sheet and place in the oven at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes remove from the oven and shake the tray slightly to mix the beans. Place tray back in the oven for another 15 minutes.

Remove from oven- let cool- and SNACK AWAY WITHOUT ALL THE GUILT!! 🙂

Fact: Garbanzo beans are packed with protein. Protein combined with everyday workouts helps build lean muscle. Muscle burns fat. The way I see it- this is a WIN!!
