Snack Time!


Happy Snow Day! Here is a healthy snow day comfort food snack for you to try!

Apple Chips 

Pre heat oven to 200 degrees

Pick two apple ( any type will work- I used granny smith)

Slice your apples very thin so that they have a star shape in the middle 

In a mixing bowl combine a few dashes of cinnamon, a dash a of nutmeg and about 4 tbsp. of your favorite sugar substitute ( I use Truvia) 

Add sliced apples in to the bowl with the sugar and spices. Toss lightly. 

Spray two baking sheets with EVOO cooking spray and then lay apples on the tray


Bake for one hour. Then, remove from heat and flip the apple slices to the other side. Continue to bake for 30 minutes.  

Remove from heat and transfer the apple slices to a cooling rack. (I just lay mine on tin foil to cool) Let them cool for a few hours or over night. This helps the apples dry out more and become even more like a chip.  Apple chips should be a bit chewy.
